8 years after my graduation in Marketing and Advertising I'm back to the class room. No, it's not a usual class room with real desks, in a real building and with my old uni mates. This time I don't have a backpack with books, pens and notebooks, instead I have a computer and all the learning magic happens online, in the great world of digital and technology.
I work in the online industry since my graduation and I know better than anyone that to work in digital marketing, to be successful in this industry we need to keep up and in an area that changes every single day that is definitely hard work.
So what should I do? All the options were on the table: go back to uni and choose a nice post graduation or masters in something related to digital marketing, try to find some flexible online course or simply do nothing and carry on with my life.
All the options above have their positive and negative aspects: a uni qualification is more fancy and has more value to people, but I have my doubts about the boring learning methods, quality and up to date knowledge of the teachers, some of them never worked in the 'real world'. Online courses don't have a lot of value for people but they offer more flexibility, with more interesting and exciting learning methods and the quality of the content teached is usually a lot better. And no, do nothing was not a real option.
And than I found The Squared Online Certificate in Digital Marketing, a unique qualification created by Google for those who want to accelerate their careers in digital marketing. Everything related to Google has a high value in the digital marketing industry and this is not just a random online course, this is a real qualification with real people (colleagues and teachers) that know what their are talking about, real assessments, a unique learning experiencevery and high profile expert speakers! The only difference is that instead of seating in a chair in a class room I'm seating in my sofa. The squared online course has definitely the best of both worlds.
